<p>Town Governments have a long way to go in their push to integrate their services with the web. At least the Glastonbury CT town government. When summer registration for parks and recreation opened today (3/15/2011) all residents were instructed to use the town&#8217;s web site to register their children for summer classes.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m all about efficiency. I&#8217;d had one prior ugly problem with the site (the UI is just terrible and unfriendly) but was willing to give it a shot.</p>
<p>This morning after 49 SLOW minutes of attempting to register my children for summer sessions the parks and recreation web site was apparently brought to it&#8217;s knees.</p>
<p>And I guessed right &#8212; as soon as I hit the last page to submit payment &#8212; C-R-A-S-H&#8230;.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve got an email into the Town Manager and Direct of Parks and Recreation for comment and will update when I hear back.</p>
