Norwegian Jewel Coast Guard Medevac October 19, 2012 – NCL Jewel

At about 11am on October 19, 2012 while cruising on the NCL Jewel somewhere off the coast of South Carolina (est) the ship’s Captain made an announcement that there would be a Coast Guard helicopter joining the boat to transport a sick passenger.

About an hour later a Coast Guard airplane and helicopter appeared overhead. The rescue took about an hour with three passengers airlifted.

    I was on the ship it was amazing although it did seem to be much more than an hour after the helicopter and plane reach the ship.I would be interested as to what the illness was and the outcome if anyone knows
