WiMAX is Here: Sprint Sierra Wireless Overdrive 4G Mobile Hotspot- $49 on Amazon
So technically neither of these items is really “here” yet. The Sprint Sierra Wireless Overdrive 4G is not yet in stock at Amazon. And to obtain the promised unlimited 4G speeds of 3 Mbps to 6 Mbps you’ll have to live in one of the relatively few WiMAX coverage areas. But how cool will this be when it is fully rolled out and you’re surfing the web five times faster than on 3G?
Naturally by then the new buzzword will be 5G and 100 Mbps (kidding) — however this device will be great when available in all areas — and best of all the monthly data pricing of $59 is the same for 4G as it presently is for 3G and there will be no data cap (at least for now).
