Verizon Unlimited Voice and Text – $39.95 via PagePlus Cellular
If you’re upset by Verizon Wireless’s pricing change that requires new subscribers (or upgrades) with a half decent phone to enroll in a data plan – here’s a great workaround that removes lengthy contracts and lowers your bill. For only $39.95 / month join PagePlus Prepaid cellular and receive unlimited voice and text messaging and 20 megs of monthly data. Their service uses the same Verizon Wireless signal as you’re accustomed to – without the Verizon monthly bill that nickels and dimes you for texting and data . But that’s not where the greatness ends. PagePlus allows you to bring your own phone. That means you can buy an LG ENV3 for about $200 on eBay and bring it to PagePlus for a flat $39.95 monthly fee (unlimited voice and text). Compare that to Verizon proper where a comparable unlimited voice plan goes for $69 before they nail you for a (now mandatory for LG ENV3 and many other similar phones) $9.99, 25 megabyte per month data plan for data services or a $29.99 unlimited data plan. Plus on Verizon Wireless texting plans are still priced separately and run an added $20 monthly JUST for texting.
Clearly these plans are for those who don’t need data as PagePlus plans only include voice and text ( data is a pricey $1.20/mb).You’ll need to replenish your minutes every 120 days or lose them. For anyone who uses a lot of voice and text messages each month – I haven’t found a plan that beats the PagePlus $39 offering.
