and i tried out this technique: it does work when you type *#*#4636#*#*
just set “wcdma only” instead of “wcdma preferred”, the phone then reconnects to the network
and voila: 3G is enabled once again!
Once this is done just put the setting back to “wcdma preferred” and your finished!
