According to web site Phandroid, there’s a sale on Droid and Eris happening this weekend (12/4 to 12/7). Open a new line of service (also applies to anyone whose bought within the last 30 days) and get one free Droid or Eris smartphone with each regular one purchased. Requires the obvious new 2 year commitment (unsure whether this would work for upgrades) as well as $30 monthly Verizon data plan on each phone. The Droid is currently priced at $199 from Verizon while the Eris is $99 both of which presently require a $100 mail in rebate. Still on the fence about the Droid? Check out the Motorola Droid Discussion Forum which is exceptionally active with users discussing their experiences. Update: Looks as if this deal is good for a free Eris only — buy a Droid get a free Eris. Appears to be corporate wide.
