Google Contacts De-Duper Now Merges Multiples Automatically
If you’ve ever tried (and failed) to synchronize large groups of contacts from Google to another source then you know what the aftermath can be. I only have 600 or so contacts but some users have 5 or 10 times as many. A failed synchronization can leave you with multiple copies of the same contact. Back in January Google added capabilities so you could manually go through each contact individually and merge them. That was a slow and time consuming task. They promised that in the future the process would be automated. The future is finally here so now when you go into your Google Contacts you’re presented with an option to merge and Google will automatically find (and merge) all duplicates. Thankfully before the full merge happens you’ll be presented with a screen where you can allow or deny merging of specific contacts.
