Installing this ROM requires a rooted GSM based Hero as well as lots of courage since it most definitely makes you a warranty voider. Not brave enough to risk bricking your Hero install? Here’s a quick video of Android 2.1 running on an HTC Hero. The changes aren’t readily apparent and according the comments there’s  lag which I find typical of most non-optimized ROMs.
