Sprint Site Eliminate Rebates and Lower Prices On Some Popular Phones To Zero

Palm Pre and Palm Pixi for $0 with no rebate. How about an HTC Hero for $29 – without rebate. Then take another 20% off your monthly plan cost. Sound too good to be true? This discount’s currently making the rounds of the various deal sites (I spotted it here on Slickdeals). It appears to require some type of membership to a discount buying club whose web site states membership is free. What’s the catch? Too soon to tell but watch the deal sites to see if any of the early purchasers have their orders accepted.

Sample deals from Sprint:

This is most definitely what’s termed a “your mileage may vary” deal. Sprint has run promotions (most notable SERO or Sprint Employee Referral Offer) in the past which technically required referrals or other qualifications but they’ve looked the other way and accepted huge numbers of subscribers.

The web site in question is public and can be found in Google. Whether you are technically required to prove you are a member of the buying group remains to be seen (watch the deal groups to see what others have to say).  Enter in transactions here at your own risk and be prepared if your discount is denied.
