It's amazing how the manufacturers DON'T tell us we can just upload our own music and use any digital track we want as a ringtone. I went thru the same process with my Palm Treo (figured out the process by accident). These steps were, seriously, no different, and I love having my own tunes ringing on my phone. Just got my G2 yesterday and am getting used to the fact that it's not a Palm (I really like Palms, so moving over was not an easy decision - it boiled down to getting the G2 for a couple of hundred bucks less through a plan, but I only got it because it syncs completely with Outlook - one of those people whose whole life is in my Outlook folders).
