Android’s Flaws Revealed By User Enhancement Requests On Google Code
Because Android is an open sourced operating system there’s also a conveniently open 2,655 suggestion que maintained on Google Code. Here users can enter (and vote on) enhancements they’d like to see in future Android releases. What’s revealing about this list is that while it’s there for a common good – to improve the product – it also reveals missing functionality in Android that might be of concern to a new buyer. For example here are the top 10 things that users have voted as being needed in Android along with the number of users who seconded or starred the suggestion (meaning they also would like to see the feature added). This is also a great list to check to see if another Android user is experiencing the same problem – such as Gmail notifications only occurring on the first new incoming email.
