New liquid cooled LED bulb uses water in the base to stay bright and cool to the touch

Traditionally LED bulbs have used bulky fans or metal heat sinks to keep themselves cool. The new HydraLux-4 LED light bulb, the world's first of its kind  uses liquid-cooling (paraffin oil) technology to look and function exactly like a regular light bulb. This 4 W LED puts out the equivalent of a 25W standard bulb.

The manufacturer claims that over the life of the bulb you'll save $157 (anyone every have a regular bulb last for the full rated life??). Eternaleds plans to announce 8W, 12W and 16W versions of the HydraLux by the end of 2009.
