Polar HR appears in App store – will interface heart rate to next gen iPhone in “Npvember”

Polar has this new freeiPhone app up in the iTunes App store. It will interface with a heart rate monitor (third party hardware integration has been announced as a feature of iPhone OS 3) to provide feedback as you exercise.

According to the app description you will have to wait until November for the hardware that makes it really work.

Let’s hope this has some mechanism for obtaining data in the background so you can also listen to iTunes as you work out.
